About Opulent Pools

Opulent Pools was founded by Cooper Lambert, who came to the pool industry from an unusual pairing of careers: aircraft engineering and the fire service. Neither has anything to do with pools on paper. In practice, both are where the habits behind this business actually came from.

From aircraft engineering: nothing gets fixed by guessing. Aircraft maintenance runs on checklists and tolerances — you don't replace a part because it might be the problem, you find the actual fault first. That's the same instinct behind how Opulent Pools handles equipment: when Scott's media filter was leaking from the top clamp, the fix wasn't “replace everything and see” — it was diagnosing the actual cause (worn O-rings) within minutes of arriving, then returning the next day once the right parts were in hand. Water chemistry gets the same treatment: every reading — pH, chlorine, alkalinity — is tested and logged against a target range on every visit, not eyeballed.

From the fire service: showing up matters more than showing off. Fire crews run on two things: respond fast, and follow through until the job's actually done — not just until it looks done. When Ying's pool turned green, that meant multiple visits until it was properly recovered, not a one-and-done dose of chemicals with fingers crossed — including telling her in advance any time a visit needed to move, rather than leaving her guessing. If something's urgent, it gets treated like one.

In more than two years in the pool industry, Cooper has serviced over 500 pools across Auckland, from standard backyard pools to several body corporate properties — the latter drawn from prior roles before Opulent Pools existed. That range means most equipment quirks and pool types aren't a surprise anymore. Opulent Pools is also fully insured.

Between the two careers, the throughline is the same: precision because it's the only way to actually fix something instead of guessing at it, and reliability because a pool — like a fire call — doesn't care whether it's convenient.
